Caring for Your Stained Glass
Hello!
Thanks for your purchase and supporting my small business. If you have any questions or run into any issues with your item, please contact me.
Your stained-glass item is FRAGILE, and it should be handled with care. It is best displayed in an area with minimal contact or where it won't be easily bumped.
How to Display Your Art
Hang your piece securely from a sturdy hook that has been screwed into a secure source (wall or wood frame). Suction cups are not reliable and tend to fall off after some time which can break your piece. Should you choose to use one, please check and clean it often to make sure it is secure.
How to Clean Your Art
Your new stained-glass piece is freshly cleaned, waxed and polished. To maintain, simply wipe with a microfiber or soft cotton cloth. Do not use any chemical or acid-based cleaners on it.
If needed, water and a mild dish soap, such as Dawn, can be used to wash it. Make sure to gently dry it off immediately after washing. You can use carnauba car wax to restore shine and add protection to slow oxidization. It is natural for oxidization to occur over time on the lead and solder lines. If this should happen, use a wet Q-Tip to wipe it away. Avoid contact with anything abrasive, as it will scuff and damage the piece, especially pieces that have a black or copper patina finish and items made with iridescent glass gems.
White Reside – I am careful and thorough in cleaning my pieces before they is sealed, however, solder can oxidize and leave a white substance on its surface over time. Gently wipe with a soft-bristle brush or a non-abrasive scrubber to remove. You may apply carnauba car wax to re-seal the solder and to avoid future oxidation.
Touching Your Piece – Stained glass pieces (EXCEPT JEWELRY) are assembled using 60/40 solder that contains LEAD. Even though your piece is sealed with wax, washing your hands with soap and water after handling is considered sufficient precaution to prevent exposure. Most important: don't try to eat or lick the solder and you'll be fine!
Jewelry
All jewelry is made with lead-free solder.
